Receptionist - Texas Horse Park
Equest at the Texas Horse Park, Dallas Texas is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time position as a Receptionist. The objective of this position is to provide customer information by way of phone, email and responding to reception desk inquiries. The Receptionist serves as the face of Equest by welcoming guests and is responsible for directing all incoming calls for the entire Equest organization. The Receptionist will also handle general administrative duties including scheduling appointments, meeting preparations, maintaining the Equest-wide calendar and contact lists, processing mail, preparing documents, ordering supplies, and data entry.
 
The successful candidate will have an upbeat personality, be a quick thinker, be able to multitask and can work under pressure both in a team as well as independently. Further, the candidate must be able and willing to learn extensively about the Equest organization, have impeccable phone manners, and be able to communicate to all types of customers in a courteous fashion.
 
Requirements:
•High school diploma minimum, 2 years of college preferred
•Proficient in Word, Excel, Publisher, and has experience with data entry
•Bi-lingual a plus

Volunteer Coordinator - Texas Horse Park
The Volunteer Coordinator - THP in Dallas will work in all aspects of the Volunteer Department of Equest with the primary responsibility for the volunteers at the Texas Horse Park location. The idea candidate is a focused, creative, energetic self-starter responsible for organizing and managing the volunteering efforts of Equest at the Texas Horse Park. This includes researching and recruiting potential volunteers as well as scheduling, communicating with, and managing the volunteers who are currently in the program. The Volunteer Coordinator is also responsible for soliciting volunteers for special events and activities, and working with the Director of Volunteer Services and other program staff to provide a full-filling and rewarding volunteer experience. They are a key team and individual player in upholding the vision, mission and values of Equest. The successful candidate will be highly skilled at multi-tasking, juggling concurrent projects with precise attention to detail, articulate in professional communication, including technical and individual writing, compelling public speaking, possesses strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with and understand a diverse population with a spirit of customer service and respect resulting in ongoing engagement and commitment to our mission by our volunteer corp.
 
Qualifications:
•College degree preferred
•At least 3 years successful work experience in related or similar field
•Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
•Horse experience preferred but not mandatory
•Ability and confidence with diverse technologies and software including proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Windows based computer skills, and social marketing

Equest provides a variety of internships centered around the Therapeutic Riding Industry.  The hands on experience in the fields of non-profit management, business, equine therapy, and related fields offer a wide variety of opportunities for those interested in learning.  We offer internships ranging from several days to many months, depending on the objectives of the intern and provide housing and riding opportunities if needed.

Therapeutic Riding Program Internship
Prerequisite Skills: None needed for general Program Interns.
Description: The program intern duties will focus on the varied aspects of the therapeutic riding program.  Assisting with therapy classes, horses and with the administration of the program, including supervising volunteers, special events and facility needs.
Supervisor: Head Instructor

Therapeutic Riding Instructor Internship
Prerequisite Skills: Candidates for the Therapeutic Riding Instructor Internship should have equestrian experience and submit a resume for consideration.
Description: Interns will assist the instructors in the implementation of the therapeutic riding classes and/or Hippotherapy.  They may also be assigned to helping with related duties, such as administrative tasks, special events and competitions.
Supervisor: Riding Instructors and/or Program Director

Therapeutic Riding Administrative Internship
Prerequisite Skills: Experience  with data entry, website and social media and Microsoft office a plus.
Description: Interns will assist the administrative office with marketing, public relations, community outreach and special events.  Interns are required to go through volunteer training and may be assigned to helping volunteer with riders.
Supervisor: Administrative Assistant

Therapeutic Riding Stable Management Internship
Prerequisite Skills: Candidates for the Therapeutic Riding Instructor Interns should have equine experience and submit a resume for consideration.
Description: These interns will assist the stable manager with daily barn maintenance, feeding, horse evaluations, and veterinary care of our therapeutic horses.
Supervisor: Stable Manager

Therapeutic Riding Volunteer Director Internship
Prerequisite Skills: None are needed for general Volunteer Interns, but computer skills, specifically with Microsoft office and data entry.
Description: Assisting the Volunteer Director with recruiting, scheduling, training, notifications and confirmation of class assignments, maintaining paperwork and files, helping with special events and trainings, and implementation of volunteers in the program.  There will be times when help is needed during lessons and the intern will fill in as a volunteer.

Therapeutic Riding Development Intern
Prerequisite Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and creativity for graphic designs are preferred.  Candidates for the Development Internship should submit a resume for consideration.
Description: These interns will assist the Director of Development with outreach of potential donors, donor related materials and programs, special event planning, donor recognition and generally helping out as needed.
