Gail Pace

Gail joined Equest as a volunteer in 1985. She subsequently served as Volunteer Coordinator, as a Board Member, and in 1988 joined the staff as an instructor. In 1995, Gail was named Head Instructor.

Gail graduated from Smith College with a B.A. in Zoology. She received her Therapeutic Riding Instructor certification from the Cheff Center in 1989; had been a certified Special Olympic Coach since 1990; received her NARHA Instructor Certification at the Certified level in 1993 and became a NARHA Master Instructor in 1997. Gail has coached equestrian teams at local, state, national and international disabled sports competition, including the 1994 World Championships for Disabled Riders in Hartpury, England and on TEAM USA at the 1996 Paralympics.

Gail is active in the NARHA Accreditation and Certification Programs and has served on the faculty of four NARHA instructor workshops, as well as three independent sponsored instructor workshops. In 1999, she presented a workshop on Autism and Therapeutic Riding, in Japan. She is a member of NARHA, the Dallas Dressage Club, U.S.D.F., LSTEN, and the US Cerebral Palsy Athletic Association. She has served on the board of LSTEN, CAN and the North Texas Hunter Jumper Club
