Jen joined the Equest staff in December 2004 after graduating from the fall 2004 Instructor Training Course where she received her NARHA Advanced Certification. She received her Registered Certification in the summer of 2004 at Mississippi State University. Jen has spent most of her life since the age of seven with horses.
Jen graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelors Degree of Landscape Architecture in 1988. After practicing for several years she entered graduate school at Loyola University New Orleans and received a MST in Science. With chemistry and physics classes looming during the semesters, Jen decided to look for some down time and combined her passion of horses and teaching and began volunteering with the Greater New Orleans Therapeutic Riding Center while teaching at the Audubon Institute. She served as a volunteer instructor and was on the Board of Directors for three Years.
She was the Early Childhood Specialist for the Education Department and taught and developed curriculum for both the Audubon Zoological Gardens and the Aquarium of The Americas.
Prior to coming to Equest, Jen was the Director and Head Instructor of Pointe Celeste Therapeutic Riding Center in Port Sulfur Louisiana.
Jen currently serves as Vice President of the LSTEN board and is the Texas State Chair for NARHA. She is also a certified Special Olympics Coach, NARHA Certified Driving Instructor and has taught at the Japan Therapeutic Riding Instructor Training School in Urakawa, Japan.
