Ariane grew up in Connecticut and received her BA in Political Science from the University of Arizona. She is a member of the Young Professionals of Greater Dallas, the Dallas Junior Chamber of Commerce, NARHA, and the Center for Nonprofit Management.

Amy Causey, Equest Program Director and Advanced Instructor

Amy first came to Equest in 2003 as an instructor and earned her Advanced Level certification through the Equest Instructor Training Course.  In March of 2008, she returned to Equest as Program Director.

Amy started riding when she was 6 years old. After graduating from Colorado State University with a bachelor’s degree in Equine Science, she turned her passion into a career showing in the hunter and jumper disciplines and the Arabian industry. She served as chair of the Colorado Arabian Horse Club Hunter/Jumper committee for 10 years, served on the board of directors, advised the youth club, and was named volunteer of the year in 1998.

Amy is a certified Special Olympics Coach. She has coached riders at the local and state level. Amy is also a certified Mentor and Evaluator for NARHA.  She enjoys helping handicapped riders excel to their full potential and is working to expand the competition opportunities for individuals with disabilities.  Amy is also a USEF licensed judge in many divisions.  Amy and her husband, Brad, have one son, Colton.

Ellie Wellford Grant, Director of Volunteer Services

Ellie has been Equest’s Volunteer Director since 2004. Ellie grew up in the hunt country of Virginia and began riding at the age of 8 with the Vicmead Hunt Club. At the University of Virginia, she received her degrees as an Echols Scholar in English, French, and the Law.  Ellie moved to Dallas to pursue a law practice. Shortly after, she joined the Junior League of Dallas, which brought Ellie to Equest as a volunteer in the Spring of 1988.  Since then, Ellie has served as a Volunteer Captain, a Tack and Groom Trainer, and the Junior League Project Chair.  She attended NARHA’s Instructor Training Short Course in 2001.  She served on the Equest Board of Directors from 2001-2004, and helped found the Horsepitality Committee, a committee that she chaired for two years.

Martha Johnson, Accounting Manager

Martha came to Equest as the accounting manager in July 2005, but had been a part of Equest as a parent of a rider, volunteer and board member for many years prior. She served as the Chairman for the Equest Family Committee for two years and co-chaired Ridefest in 2006. She has been a part of Equest for the past 15 years.

Martha has worked in accounting since 1987 and has owned and operated her own business. She also was a customer support manager, responsible for the company’s largest customer (120 million) insuring complete customer satisfaction by managing and developing a high performing team.

At Equest, she is responsible for all accounting functions including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, audit, employee and facilities insurance and human resources.

Brad Causey, Equest Facilities/Stable Manager and Registered Instructor

Brad became involved with therapeutic riding after his father had a life-changing accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down.  Brad completed his registered level certification at Equest in 2004 and worked as an intern with Equest’s summer camp program.

Brad has a degree in Agricultural Development from Texas A&M University.  While completing his course work, Brad facilitated the Roy E. Dye hippotherapy program in conjunction with the Bryan Independent School District.  He also helped coach the Bryan Special Olympics Equestrian Team.

Brad expanded his Equine Facilitated Mental Health knowledge while working at the Griffith Center for Children, a residential treatment center for at-risk boys, in Colorado.  He directed the Equine Program, taught vocational equestrian skills classes, and led individual and group therapy sessions.  Brad also helped teach the Griffith Center’s Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy workshops training professionals in equine-related mental health techniques.
