Groom and Tack Trainers

Groom and Tack trainers help staff to teach the groom and tack section of volunteer training. Volunteer trainings occur twice prior to the start of riding sessions:

See our calendar for specific dates. G&T trainers are also asked to self-schedule special mid-session trainings.

G&T trainers should have a strong knowledge base of horse management in order that they may be effective trainers; capable of not only teaching How’s, but the equally important What’s and Why’s.  Specifically, they should know the following:

To be eligible to participate as a G&T trainer, you must be one of the following:

Eligible candidates are required to take and pass a test to receive further training from the Instructor Staff.
