Volunteer

Equest needs adults and teenagers who are interested in assisting children and adults with disabilities as they participate in Equest's program of therapeutic horseback riding. The minimum age requirement is 14 and completion of the 7th grade. We may make exceptions for younger people with extensive horse experience. Prior approval is necessary from Equest.

Volunteers assist in riding classes, physical therapy sessions, with administrative office work, and with special events such as RideFest, horse shows, Moon and Stars Gala, Special Olympics, etc.

Program volunteers
assist as sidewalkers or leaders. No prior horse experience necessary. Every volunteer will attend our orientation and hands-on training.

Documentation is available for teens fulfilling community service requirements for schools and other organizations. Court appointed Community Service Restitution is also available.
