Vegas is a 13-year-old Paint mare. Vegas debuted at Equest in 2015 at the Texas Horse Park, and is one of seven girls in the barn bringing girl power to the arena! This sweet girl loves English and Western disciplines, and working with our veterans. When asked if she's up for representing #TeamCoastGuard, Vegas confidently remarked, "Semper Paratus!"
Amigo in Jags, or Amigo as his amigos call him, is a 16-year-old sorrel Quarter Horse. Amigo debuted at Equest in 2005 - tying him for longest tenure at Equest! This sweet boy has experience in every corner of therapeutic horsemanship making him one of the most dependable and reliable horses in the barn. Amigo volunteered to represent his amigos on #TeamFirstResponders!
Little Bay Hombre, or Hombre as his friends call him, is a 22-year-old bay Quarter Horse. Hombre has been helping the clients of Equest since 2015. Hombre doesn't choose favorites, but if he did, he'd pick working with our veterans. Hombre will be representing #TeamArmy! When asked how he feels about fundraising against the other armed forces, Hombre declared, "This We'll Defend!"
This 17-year-old sorrel Quarter Horse's full name is Royal Peppy Rey, but we just call him Rey. Rey has been on Team Equest since 2014 helping our clients in both English and Western disciplines. Rey will be representing "The Few, The Proud" #TeamMarines! When asked why he chose to team up with the Marines, Rey remarked, "Semper Fidelis."
Get Smart, Smarty for short, is a 15-year-old bay Oldenburg. Smarty joined the Equest mission of healing through horses in 2015. Because he loves jumping, soaring through the air, #TeamAirForce was the obvious choice for Smarty! When asked how much he plans to raise, Smarty declared, "Aim High... Fly-Fight-Win!"
Zeus is a 16-year-old Norwegian Fjord. This mighty guy joined Equest in 2008 - making him one of our veteran horses. Zeus, true to his breed, loves pulling veteran and carriage around the grounds at THP. His Norwegian heritage and love of the sea is what drove him to join #TeamNavy! When asked why he wants to represent the Navy, Zeus simply replied, "Non sibi sed patriae."
