Equest Rider Case Study: Jarren

Diagnosis: Encephalopathy (defined as syndrome of global brain dysfunction)

Tenure at Equest: Jarren started in hippotherapy at age three with very low tone throughout his body. He could not lift his head independently, nor was he crawling or walking. Prior to starting kindergarten this year, Jarren came to Equest twice a week, and is now able to sit somewhat independently with support around his waist, and is able to lift his head with control for up to five minutes. Jarren continues in hippotherapy once a week.

Jarren's case study appeared in Equest's 2012-13 Annual Report
