Learn about your instructor
As a horse-crazy kid, Kim started taking riding lessons more than fifty years ago, and has been involved with horses ever since! During her junior years, she was a member of the United States Pony Club, which afforded her the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of horse activities. This included riding dressage, stadium jumping, cross-country jumping, vaulting, fox-hunting, and camping with her horses. She was also privileged to show hunters and jumpers, as well as spending many, many hours trail riding. During those years, she also received an Engineering degree from Texas A&M, worked on missile and rocket systems at Lockheed, raised two wonderful children, became a certified Dyslexia Therapist, and taught reading and spelling to students with a variety of diagnoses. She eventually realized she could combine her passion for horses with her passion for helping people with differing abilities. Kim came to Equest as a volunteer in the summer of 2017, and became certified through PATH, International as an Instructor in the spring of 2018 and is now an Advanced level Instructor. She is also certified as an ESMHL. She loves her work at Equest, and looks forward to every day here!
