Joan Cutler is a Certified Therapeutic Riding instructor, PATH International Advanced Instructor, Level 1 Driving Instructor, and Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning. Joan is currently the Operations Coordinator for Equest in Dallas, TX. Joan has been involved with therapeutic horsemanship since 1992, starting as a volunteer at Equest. After receiving her NARHA (PATH International) Registered Instructor Certification, Joan was an instructor at TherAplay in Indianapolis, Indiana. Joan then moved to R.O.C.K., Ride On Center for Kids in Georgetown, TX where she was the Program Director and Special Projects Director. Joan was instrumental in developing the pilot program with the Horse Detachment at Fort Hood, Texas for the first NARHA (PATH) military veterans’ program. Joan also spent time as the Head Instructor and Leadership Director at Runnin’ WJ Ranch in Texarkana, TX. Joan is involved with PATH International as a volunteer having served on the Equine Services for Heroes Committee and as the PATH International Region 8 Representative. Joan is a PATH Intl Lead Site Visitor as well as an Associate Registered Level Evaluator. Joan is also a certified Special Olympics Equestrian Coach. Joan was honored as the recipient of the 2019 PATH International Professional of the Year.
