Join us for volunteer training on either Saturday, June 1 or Saturday, June 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. You must attend one training session to be an Equest volunteer.

Summer Semester Begins for HPOT, Driving, H4H & Volunteer Lessons

Hippotherapy

5 Week Semester: June 4-July 10; $180 per hour

Clients will spend an hour a week with their Therapist and horse working towards goals established by their treatment team. Treatment days and times are outlined on the attached registration form.

Carriage Driving

5 Week Semester: June 4-July 12; $325 for Carriage Driving lessons

Clients interested in carriage driving can participate in equine-assisted therapy while “mounted” in a carriage for clients who cannot or do not wish to be mounted on a horse. Clients will spend 1 hour per week for 5 weeks learning to drive a carriage.

Hooves for Heroes THR Class

5 Week Semester: June 7-July 12; Free of Charge for 5 lessons

Participants join with fellow Veterans and military spouses to learn mounted equestrian skill development and progres-sion while building meaningful relationships with their horses and each other. Most volunteers assisting with this pro-gram are also Veterans or Armed Forces family members.

Summer Volunteer Riding Lessons

5 Week Semester: June 4-July 13

$250 for lessons at the Greener, Rusty, and Tally Levels

We will offer weekly English-style riding lessons for our current volunteers. Volunteer riders must arrive 30 minutes prior to the lesson time to groom and tack. Three skill levels are offered and are described on the 2nd sheet of this packet. Please see the registration form for class days and times.

Summer Semester Begins for Therapeutic Riding & EAL

Therapeutic Sports Riding

4 Week Semester: June 11-July 13

$200 Group lessons; $240 Semi-Private lessons; $260 Private lessons

Clients can choose group, semi-private, or private classes that will meet once a week for 4 weeks. Group and semi-private classes will be comprised of riders at the same riding level with additional consideration for clients’ ages and disabilities when possible. If you do not know your riding level, please see the 2nd page of this packet for riding level descriptions. The maximum group class size is 5 riders.

Equine Assisted Learning (EAL)

4 Week Semester: June 11-July 13; $200 for EAL sessions

Participants gain firsthand experience through sensory immersion into the world of the horse. The focus of Equine Assisted Learning is on general equine knowledge, horse behavior, communication skills, and social skills as learned from the herd.

-Clean and clear trails of clutter and litter
-Wood chip
-Horse pen maintenance
-General barn/facilities maintenance and horse care (haying, watering, mucking stalls)
-Plus some painting

AHA Level II Hippotherapy Workshop

May 16-19, 2019

AHA Level II Workshop

This course is designed for licensed PT’’s, OTs, SLPs, PTAs, OTAs, and SLPA’s and it is strongly recommended that therapists complete 30 hours incorporating hippotherapy as a treatment tool/strategy prior to taking Level II to most effectively benefit from the treatment sessions conducted during the course. Therapists must attend all four days of the course to receive a certificate of attendance.
