Internships

​

Equest provides a variety of internships centered around equine-assisted activities and therapies as well as nonprofit administration. Internships are tailored to the individual needs of the intern and the current program needs.

​

Internships will be considered and personalized based on the candidate’s experience and interests, as well as the needs of our organization at the time of application.

 

Intern Candidates will be asked to complete an Internship Application and Volunteer Application including background check.  The Equest internship application is available on our website under our Professional Education section.  Please submit the internship application along with a resume, letter of intent, and references to:

Non-Profit Management and Business Internship

Description: These interns will assist the Executive Team with ensuring the non-profit is running smoothly, and updating policies and procedures as assigned. The duties also include assisting the business and finance managers with record keeping projects and helping the CEO with communication to the Board of Directors.  These interns also assist the development department with donor relations, event preparation, and development projects as needed.  

Volunteer Management
Internship

Description: Interns will assist the volunteer director with volunteer recruiting, scheduling including confirming class assignments, updating paperwork and files, and helping with special events and volunteer training.

Equine Management Internship

Description: Interns will assist the stable and equine managers with daily barn maintenance, feeding, horse evaluations, and veterinary care of our therapy horses.

Marketing and Development Internship

Description: Interns will assist the development team with donor-related outreach, marketing materials, social media, photography /videography, special events, donor recognition, database entries, research, and other fundraising and communication related activities.
