Equest's shindig will benefit its free program for veterans

Equest is throwing its first Boots & Salutes shindig on July 28 at Texas Horse Park to benefit its veterans program.
Celebrating its sixth anniversary this month, Hooves for Heroes provides mental and physical equestrian therapies and counseling at no cost to veterans and their families. It has served more than 600 people.
The 1940s-themed soiree will feature live music and dancing, performers from the Dallas Swing Dance Society, equestrian tributes to the armed forces and a flyover by a World War II-era T-6 Texan aircraft.
Every dollar raised will be matched by a veterans program grant from the Health and Human Services Commission.
Luck at Trinity Groves, Neiman Marcus Group, Popstar Popsicles, Seasons 52, String Bean, 3015 at Trinity Groves and The Rustic will be dishing out bites to be washed down with beverages from Dr Pepper Snapple Group and Oak Highlands Brewery.
