A shopping trip fit for a hobbit (or Dallas dweller)

Attention, Hobbit fans! An enchanted shire awaits filled with dragons, fairies, hobbits and orcs, as well as fashion and jewelry fit for a queen. Seven years in the making, this Tolkien-inspired cottage and grounds will be the site of some extraordinary designer jewelry and apparel, taking “Lord of the Rings” to a quite literal level. We’re nerding out over here!

The Equest Tolkien Experience came about as a result of some collaboration with creator Phyllis and the co-founder of Equest, Susan Schwartz. Equest is a charity whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals with special needs through the help of horses. Phyllis loved the charity’s purpose and couldn’t wait to take the chance to benefit them. One thing led to another, and the Tolkien Experience was born!

Although the physical product was spawned by architect David Stocker, builder Clay Snelling, landscape architect Rosa Finley and interior designer Adrienne Morgan, Phyllis was the creator behind the idea and gave her approval of each decision made.

“Guests can expect a home and garden tour that will make them smile and feel as though they’ve left the ordinary world and adventured into Middle Earth and its faerie kingdom,” Phyllis told us.

Shoppers can check out some exquisite accessories and apparel from Hari Jewels and Lily of the West. Hari Jewels are a perfect fit for those looking for above-and-beyond adornment. Lily of the West creates custom red-carpet wear that’s as extravagant as the event itself.

Additionally, guests can check out goods from Origins, a Santa Fe-bred boutique named one of the “Top 10 Best Boutiques in the World” by Frommer’s Guide to Shopping.
