International Angelman Awareness Day

Updated: Apr 22, 2020

The following post was written by the family of an Equest client.

Saturday, February 15th is International Angelman Day. It is a day dedicated to raising awareness about a very rare neurogenetic disorder, which you are now fairly familiar with as you provide Zachary with so much support. On this special day celebrating Zachary's uniqueness, we wear BLUE to support him - and hope you will too!

We are forever grateful for all of the care, compassion, and knowledge that you have been imparting on Zachary. We have seen tremendous growth over the last year which would not be possible without an amazing team - it takes a village!

Over the past year we've seen Zachary take independent steps, begin to babble, nod yes/no, drink from a straw, beginning to talk with his PODD book, and grow in confidence - showing us his mischievous side. He would not be where he is today without the amazing work that you do. He amazes us with his determination and infectious smile and love.

We hope, pray, and fundraise for a cure to Angelman Syndrome. Clinical trials have started to find a cure. To learn more about Angelman Syndrome watch this short video: https://cureangelman.org/AS or visit the Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics (FAST) https://cureangelman.org the organization that is helping to bring many possible treatments to trial for him this year!

You are responsible for making our angel soar! You make all the difference every day in the work you do, not only for Zachary, but his twin brother Parker and our family.
