Therapeutic Riding Instructor/ Equine & Equipment Coordinator
Position: Full Time, Salaried, Exempt
Reports to: Director of Program Quality and Development
Manages: Volunteers and Interns as assigned
Works closely with: All Instructors, Equine and Facility Managers and volunteer department employees and
volunteers.
Core Work Week: Tuesday- Saturday, some evenings
Job Overview:
The Therapeutic Riding Instructor/Equine & Equipment Coordinator (TRIEEC) is a vital team member who directly carries out the Equest mission. This instructor will change the quality of life for the Equest clients by planning and conducting engaging lessons to all levels and abilities of riders. The TRIEEC is also responsible for developing and coordinating health protocols and schooling programs for our equine herd as well as organizing the equipment used in lessons. In collaboration with all program employees, the TRIEEC will be actively involved with volunteer trainings, educational programs, special events and will coach clients at horse shows. The TRIEEC must be able to work Tuesday through Saturday with some additional weekend days necessary for shows and special events.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be very organized, solution oriented, self-motivated and possess the ability to work both independently and with a diverse and productive team while displaying a positive attitude always. Attention to detail is very important and a passion for excellence is necessary to fit into the Equest culture.

Bachelor’s degree or proven equivalent experience

Advanced riding and horsemanship skills

Riding lesson instruction experience

PATH International Instructor Certification at Advanced level- opportunity to obtain certification upon employment for a candidate demonstrating adequate experience and skill level

Knowledge of horse ailments and treatment methods necessary for a herd of 35 horses.

Able to juggle multiple projects at one time.

Possess the ability to build and maintain relationships efficiently. Exceptional interpersonal skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook

PATH International ESMHL Certification a plus

Horse Showing experience a plus

Horse Training experience a plus
