Volunteer Coordinator (VC)

Position:                  Part-Time, Salaried, Exempt

Reports to:              Director of Volunteer Services (DVS)

Supervises:              Volunteers and interns (as assigned)

Core work week:     20 hours with Saturdays required

​

Job Overview: 

The Volunteer Coordinator (VC) is a vital team member who supports Equest’s robust Volunteer Program.  The VC is instrumental in assisting the DVS in the recruitment and management of volunteers and ensuring that all the volunteer needs of Equest’s programs, special events, fundraisers and special projects are effectively met.  The VC provides support for data entry, data management, external communications and other administrative tasks as needed.  This includes researching and recruiting potential volunteers as well as assisting with scheduling, communication and management of the volunteers who are currently participating in the program.  The VC is also responsible for assisting in soliciting volunteers for special events and working with the DVS and other program staff to provide a fulfilling, rich and rewarding volunteer experience. Manage onboarding and facilitation of a variety of work groups.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Saturday availability is a must.  Occasional Sunday availability.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, (both written and oral)

  • Computer and Data Management Skills, including: general knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Publisher and/or Canva or similar program, Power Point, Excel, MailChimp and Salesforce preferred. Volunteer Now a plus.

  • A collaborative and collegial work style is necessary.

  • Be organized, prepared, detail-oriented and possess a great deal of integrity.

  • Able to juggle multiple projects at one time.

  • Must have the ability to empathize with volunteers from all walks of life and help make their volunteer work a positive and rewarding experience.
